Mopped Up

Hahaha, don't you just love that sentiment!! Something I definitely live by!!! Just a quick simple card for the new release over at Imagine That. I used the set Mopped Up, the color version of course! The I hit up my scrap pile and found a wonderful selection to bring out the colors in this mop and bucket image. Now back to my stamp room...can't risk my life doing housework!!!

It's Your Day!

We're back, with a blast from the past challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. It's fun going back to older sketches!

Our lovely sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine Stamps. Check 'em out!!! Talk about an amazing variety of darling images! Sure to fit whatever you need.

Like this guy, Lil Lazy Gnome. I see him as perfect for a guy's card, be it birthday or Father's Day. I tried keeping it in fall colors with just a touch of teal (quickly climbing to the top of my favorite colors list!). Hope you can join us this week for some sketchy fun at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

I'm submitting my card to the Anything Goes challenge goin' on over at the Lacy Sunshine blog.

Here Comes Santa Claus

This is a first for me...creating my very first shaker card that is!!! And, to give you a chuckle because it did me, you can see my camera reflecting from the acetate on the front of the shaker!!! This is actually for our latest challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas - Santa. The image is from Limited Runs, one of our sponsors this week, called Little Santa Pre-Colored Set. I cut out the pink Santa for a fun color mash up. The speech bubble is a die from Lawn Fawn, Chit Chat. A shaker card was easier than I thought...might have to make more!!! Hope you can join us for some Santa Claus fun at Holly Jolly Christmas.

Since my birthday was this month, yep, I'm asking for a birthday card in my new favorite color combination...yellow, white, gray and/or black. Here's my sample using Paper Trey Ink stamps and dies. The flower is from Bitty Bouquets stamp and die set. The flowers themselves are stamped in Harvest Gold while the leaves and stems are in Smokey Shadow. The sentiment is from the Perfect Pairing stamp set and is stamped in versafine black. Hope you can join us for a birthday color challenge at The Outlawz, CAS style of course.

Sweeping Success!

Yes, this is my third post for today!! Scroll down and check 'em all out...after you stay here and read about this one first!! Hahaha!! Imagine That is having another new release for September and the theme is housework! My card uses an image from the mini set Housework Sucks (and boy do I agree with that!!!). This mini set is part of a larger set that includes all the other mini sets at quite the savings. That larger set is called Leesa's Cleaning Day. So fun, with lots of sweet images and punny sentiments. So perfect. Follow the Imagine That Blog so you don't miss out on your chance at winning one of these mini sets of your very own!!!

Cute Critters

Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the challenge going on at Fab 'n' Funky...and their theme is "cute critters." I must say, you can find A LOT of cute critters over at Doodle Pantry! I actually had a hard time picking just one!!! I went with this cutie, Apple Hedgehog - the color version of course!! I wanted to go strictly with fall colors but when I slipped in this piece of aqua blue, I knew that was what was missing! Sure hope you can join 'em at the Fab 'n' Funky Cute Critters challenge this week.

Happy Halloween

Time for a new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Another awesome sketch, don't you think?!!

Leaf Your Cares Behind

Figured I'd better get working on my progressive challenges for the month!! This adorable guy is from Deedee's Digis, Leaf Your Cares Behind. I pulled out some very old Basic Grey pattern paper because it had some wonderful fall colors. Boy do I need to use up my papers...after all, with Christmas right around the corner (YIKES!), there are always new papers coming out that I positively NEED to have! Read all about Deedee's Digi of the Month challenge HERE.

So Very Grateful

We have an Anything Goes for our Clean and Simple challenge this week over at The Outlawz. I used this opportunity to use some new stamps and dies I recently got. The stamp is from WPlus9 - Grateful Greetings. For the leaves, I sponged distress ink onto a piece of watercolor paper, applying water droplets for that fun spattered look. I then die cut the leaves (Leaf Silhouettes by Paper Trey Ink) from the watercolor paper as well as from gold foil paper. Really quite simple to make, too bad I couldn't get a better pic to show off the gold foil. Sure hope you can join us for an Anything Goes CAS challenge at The Outlawz.

Creative Knockouts - Happy Fall Y'all

Friend

I felt the need to play with some of the stamps and dies from my Stamp of Approval box by Catherine Pooler. A holiday box is in the works so be sure and get on the wait list for updates. From this SOA box I used the flower dies, friend die and fun background. Additional items from My Favorite Things include the On the Diagonal background and Stitched Circle Frames die. I agonized over the layout, flower arranging is so not my strong point!! But I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's fun creating just for fun!

I'd like to submit my card to the following challenge:
4 Crafty Chicks - Circles

Sweeter Than a Bushel of Apples

I overslept this morning, and I've been all out of sorts ever since. Things are starting to settle down for me though so I was able to get into my craft room and finish up this card that I had partially done last night. The sweet image is from Imagine That and is this month's Digi of the Month, Maggie's Apples. She is just so cute!!! I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday, so perfect to use up some scraps of pattern paper.

Warm Winter Wishes

Check out the latest sketch challenge we have going on at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Use it if you need to make a card super quick.

We have our wonderfully generous monthly sponsor this week, Digi Stamp Boutique. It's always a pleasure getting to work with her images.

I'm entering my card into the September customer competition over at the Digi Stamp Boutique blog.

Musical CAS

It's Sunday and time for a new CAS challenge over at The Outlawz. This week we're going with a musical theme. I scoped out Stamp TV for a fun and simple technique and found this one that makes use of my Score-Buddy. If you aren't a member of Stamp TV, I highly recommend it. Lots of wonderful videos of super fun techniques. I used a stamp set from Gina K Designs called Gleefully Yours. I used black and ivory as my color combo, one that I don't normally use...silly I know! Sure hope you can join us this week for our music themed CAS challenge at The Outlawz.

Camouflaged Pocket Inserts

I've never played along with Paper Trey Ink's Make it Monday challenges until today. This one is called Camouflaged Pocket Inserts. Here is my card with the insert inside the pocket. The magic happens when you pull out the insert...

The floral spray is actually attached to the insert!! Surprise!! I used the PTI stamp set Fall Florals along with the dies. My ink colors are New Leaf, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, and Summer Sunrise. I did the rock & roll method on the pink flowers...love the effect. A fun technique, one worth trying again, that's for sure.

Porch Swing

My Grandmother on my Dad's side had a wonderful swing on her back porch. To this day I remember as a kid climbing up and swinging the day away. That's why I had to use this Doodle Pantry set called Porch Swing. My card is for the Southern Girls Challenge that Doodle Pantry is sponsoring. Their challenge is all about layers. That's a fun challenge if you ask me!!! I like layers but not a lot of embellishments...so a bit of twine all tied up in a bow is all it needs. Join them at Southern Girls Challenge and get your layers on!!!

Happy Fall

I know, I'm rushing summer a little bit here, but I must admit, I do love fall. The colors of the leaves are a true work of art. The temps are cooler so I can turn off this blasted air conditioner and open up some windows!! I get so cold when the air conditioner is running, but everyone else in the house is happy so I just bundle up in a sweater. My card uses the adorable Crows & Pumpkins by Imagine That! The background isn't very inventive, but it did help to use up some pattern paper scraps!!

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
Papertake Weekly - Things with wings
Make it Monday - Something beginning with the letter F (Fall)
Ooh La La Creations - Autumn

Back to School

Our challenge over at the Fresh Brewed Blog this week is Back to School. Raise your hand if you're happy the kiddos are back in school! I hope I'm not the only one!!! I love the routine of back to school. I just wish I wasn't under the weather now too. At least I have a quiet house to relax in!! Here's my very simple card using the adorable A+ Bug from Fresh Brewed Designs. Hmmmm, I see another card being sent to my college junior...hahaha!! He hates getting "cute" cards, but if there's a gift card tucked inside, he'll put up with it!! Sure hope you can join us this week at the Fresh Brewed Blog for our Back to School challenge.

Geometric Shapes

Today's the first I've been in my stamp room since Friday!! I've been under the weather and have gone from bed to couch back to bed again since Saturday. ICK!! Needless to say I'm way behind on my DT required cards. Here's my card to share with you the Sunday CAS challenge over at The Outlawz. This week we're asking for a clean and simple card using a geometric shape. I pulled out this Argyle Background stamp set from Lawn Fawn to finally get inky! I did some second generation of the solid argyle after the first stamping was done in black. The sentiment is also from Lawn Fawn,
So Much to Say. The white and red layer are popped up onto the black card base using fun foam. Join us if you please over at The Outlawz CAS challenge for some geometric shapely fun.

Happy Fall Y'all!

I couldn't wait to share with you my card using the new release Ted and Trudy's Wagon from Imagine That! These cows are simply adorable!! But what I especially love is the digital papers included in this set. I used the cow print here...so fun! It's always amazes me the creative process, when you have one idea in mind for your card then it ends up looking nothing like that when you're done. I struggled finding the right place for the sentiment then got the bright idea (I get a few of them every so often!!) to cut it up. That way it fit without covering up the image. Be sure and check out all the new releases at Imagine That. They'll make you say MOOOOO!!

Thanks a Bushel

I'm back with my second post today, sharing this card using the cutie Humphrey's Apples from Imagine That! My in-laws sent me a Starbucks gift card for my birthday (something I will use every day!!!) so I needed a thank you card to mail out to them. Kept it simple but with several layers of pattern paper that I've been know to hoard!!

Challenges I'm submitting my card to include:
Clear it Out - Anything goes (both theme and stash item)
Fan-Tastic Tuesday - Anything goes with a twist, make it cute
Craft Your Passion - Anything goes
Ooh La La Creations - Autumn

Happy Birthday to Ewe and Me!!

It's time to share the latest sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Just like last week, and the week before that and so on and so on, this is one great sketch!!!

And our wonderful sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps. Definitely one of my top 5 faves!!!

Check out this image I got to play with, Birthday Ewe Trio. Are they not hilarious?!!! I had to make a birthday card because...today is my birthday!!! I extend it for a week because I love getting spoiled!! I've been on a diet and doing pretty well (I've lost 14 pounds so far!!) so no birthday cake. Instead I want to go out for ice cream!! I won't over do it but I just want ice cream!! Now I want you to join us this week for some fun of your own at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Howdy Friend

This is my third (yes I said 3rd) post for today. Be sure and scroll down to check 'em all out. The first day of the month means it's time for the Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge over at the Doodle Pantry blog. I've had this Doodle Pantry image printed AND die cut for quite some time, so best put it to use now!! The image and sentiment is from the Mini Rooster set. If you can believe it, I did not use any digital paper on this one...there's a first for everything!! I did sponge two of my papers, something I don't do often enough. Be sure and join us at the Doodle Pantry blog for our monthly Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge and your chance at some Doodle Pantry goodness.

Thanks a Bushel

It's September 1st (WHAAAAT?!!) and time to reveal the new Digi of the Month set over at Imagine That. Say hello to the adorable Maggie's Apples. I love this darling cow!! And check out two of the digital papers also included...fabulous!! Now if you played along in the August digi of the month challenge, you will receive this set free!! If not, be sure and head to the Imagine That shop right now and buy it HERE at a discount. Create with it and post it to the challenge blog HERE by the 28th to receive next month's digi set absolutely free!! Talk about a win win!

Happy Holidays

It's time for a new challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas. Over the next two weeks, we're looking for a Christmas card using a die. First, I used an image from one of our sponsors, A Day for Daisies, called Christmas Pixy One. My die cuts are Stitched Rectangles from Lil' Inker Designs and Blueprints 13 from My Favorite Things. I'm finding as I make more and more cards that I don't use a lot of embellishments...and that's okay by me. Mind you, I'll still buy 'em thinking one day I'll use 'em, but that day never seems to arrive!! Sure hope you can join us at Holly Jolly Christmas.
