Merry Christmas to You

How would you like to keep on working on your supply of Christmas cards? Well you can! Simply join us each week at the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges and you'll be well on your way! This week our theme is a color challenge -- blue and silver. Our sponsor is Fred She Said where my adorable Little Fat Santa image is from. Yep, I used the color image...surprised?!! I had scraps of this blue and silver dp on my desk from previous projects so I put them to use here, running the layer thru the Big Shot with an embossing folder for fun. The silver brads finish it off. Simple yet fun!

Shore Do Love You

Welcome to our new clean and simple challenge over at The Outlawz. Our theme is "seascape." I was excited to be able to use my sea themed dies from My Favorite Things. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti and the square and rectangle dies are from Lil' Inkers. Talk about a five minute card!! Gotta love that!

Sweet Birthday

Yeah, I'm hooked on the clean and simple style! A quick card I made for the CAS challenge over at Stamp TV. The Gina K stamp set I used is called You're the Sweetest. I wanted a fun, bright card to chase away these winter time blues. I'm blue because it's so stinkin' cold outside!!! And it doesn't look like there's much relief in sight either! Next week the overnight lows are below zero!! What is that all about?!

Enough whining, I think I'm off to make a hot cup of tea, curl under my heavy blanket, and pop a movie in. I feel better now!!

I'm submitting this card to the Clean & Simple Stamping challenge - thanks for the awesome sketch!

I'll Always Love You

Yes, I can make Valentines!!! I say that because I'm not a huge hearts lover so I don't do much for Valentines Day. But for the final challenge for Gina K guest DT spot on Stamp TV convinced me otherwise. This card actually follows the sketch provided - and as you know, I love sketch challenges so I was in heaven with this one!! I used the stamp set True Love, embellishing with sewing, pearls, lace and a glittery heart. Yes, a heart!!

Love and Coffee

Good thing I somehow remembered today was Wednesday (Monday holidays always do this to me). After all, I wanted to remind you of our Big Blog Candy Giveaway over at the Fresh Brewed Blog. Simply create a new card using a Fresh Brewed image as well as post this candy badge along the sidebar of your blog, linking it back to the Fresh Brewed Blog. Be sure and add this blog candy photo in EACH post with your card with a link back to this post.

Here's a card I wanted to share with you. I used the newly released Warm My Heart Mug digital image from Fresh Brewed Designs. The sentiment is also from Fresh Brewed Designs, part of the Skinny Minnie Coffee Break stamp set. Enjoy your day and stay warm. It's 0 degrees outside right now as I'm typing this. And I don't think it's supposed to warm up much more than this during the day! YIKES!!

Sweet Love

Welcome back to another new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Be sure and follow our blog, there's a prize up for grabs once we reach 100! And here's our latest sketch for this week. It's yet another beauty!

This week has really been fun for me!! Our sponsor is Fresh Brewed Designs, and I'm lucky enough to be on their design team also! Heather is the sweetest person around. Be sure and head to her shop HERE where you'll find something fun! The prize this week is 3 free digis from Fresh Brewed Designs.

Here's my card using our sketch and the adorable Fresh Brewed Designs image So Happy Together. Are you surprised it's not a snowman??!!! I found this Basic Grey paper pad buried underneath "stuff" on my desk and decided to go with these colors. And of course the heart needed some red Stickles for a bit of pop!

Sure hope you can join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

Season's Greetings

Time for a new challenge over at Holly Jolly Christmas. This time our theme is Christmas animals and our sponsor is Oak Pond Creations. For my card, I used the adorable Reindeer image. After all, Christmas is but 337 days away!!!!!

Hello my Friend

It's Sunday, and I almost forgot to post my card for our CAS challenge over at The Outlawz. In recognition of Winnie the Pooh Day, our theme is a clean and simple project showcasing a bear. I instantly thought of this sweetie, Vintage Bear from Doodle Pantry. I found some digital paper scraps and decided to use 'em up by cutting out some circles. Fun, simple, and quick. Now join us this week and share your Pooh Bear with us at The Outlawz.

Winter Wishes

Well my wish for winter is...that it would go away!!!!!! Last evening we had a "downpour" of snow, dropping 2 inches in a short period of time. Hubby just happened to be looking out the living room window and watched a car almost hit our mailbox!! People simply do not slow down on our street!!!

Now the crazy thing about winter is it brings out the adorable snowman images that I absolutely love. Here's one of them, a set from Doodle Pantry called Snowman Scenes. Yes it's the color image and yes, that's the digital paper also included in this set. Maybe I'll send this off to my niece and her hubby who live in Florida!! They'll get a kick out of it I'm sure.

Some challenges I'd like to submit this to include:
Digi Haven - Baby it's Cold Outside
Delightful Challenges - Brrr!
Cuttin' & Stampin' - Winter

Shaped Card and Tags

I forgot to show you two more creations I've submitted to the guest DT challenges going on over at Stamp TV. Believe me when I say they have pulled me out of my comfort zone on these! First up is a shaped card. I went with a star shape and a Gina K Designs set that I actually won called Lots of Lines. The little heart die cut that I covered in Stickles provided that little bit of pop I needed without sending it over the edge.

Next challenge was a set of tags. Me, make tags??!!!!! I searched around my forever mess of crafty goodness and found a tag die. And the stamp set I used is called Lighthearted Wishes. For some reason I wanted to do paper piecing...crazy yet such fun results. Of course my glossy accents didn't want to behave when I was applying it to the light bulb's heart, but I stuck with it and got it to work! Yes, these too were fun to make!! Now the fourth and final challenge is right up my alley...a sketch!

Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

A new home has been found for our Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge blog, so be sure and follow us. You won't want to miss a single challenge. This week our theme is "Frame It" and our sponsor is Floppy Latte Designs. I used the beautiful image Candy Cane, coloring it with copic markers. I created my frame by die cutting using two square dies I had layered up and held in place with some washi tape. The frame is then popped up over the image. I kept the rest of it pretty simple so the framed image would shine. Do join us this week at Holly Jolly Christmas.

Another Sweet Snowman

Welcome back to our third challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Another sketch is waiting for you to give it a try. You're gonna love it so I sure hope you can join us.

Our sponsor this week is the lovely Sally Ann from Digi Stamp Boutique. Take a moment and browse thru the store, you're sure to find some really sweet images. Our grand prize winner this week will receive a £10 voucher for the store at Digi Stamp Boutique.

Here's my card, using the adorable Jack and Snowman. Yes, once again, I've fallen for another sweet snowman! Can you blame me though? Sooooooo cute!!! Do join us this week for a fabulous challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

I will be submitting this card to the Customer Competition at the Digi Stamp Boutique Blog.

Normally on Tuesdays I have a new challenge to share for the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge. The site however has been compromised and therefore shut down. We will be up and running soon though so be on the lookout. In the meantime, I wanted to show off the card I made for this month's Digi Stamps 4 Joy Christmas Challenge. It's a progressive challenge so get this adorable freebie image, create a card, and you will be eligible for the next month's freebie. How fun! Now that I have this picture posted, I realize I had planned to put Stickles or glossy accents on the flame. Oh well, maybe next time!

Let it Snow

Actually, I'd prefer if it were to STOP snowing!!! I'm not a big fan of winter. What I am turning into though is a clean & simple kinda gal. The Outlawz CAS challenge theme this week is your "current season." I used a PaperTrey Ink stamp set called 2009 Holiday Tag Collection. I cut it out as well as the navy blue circle with my circle nesties. I love the embossing folder, looks like falling snow. The white "snow embossed" layer is popped up as well as the circles and sentiment. Can you say 5 minute card?

I'd like to submit this to the Cut It Up challenge, White as Snow.

Guest DT Call

Over at Stamp TV, they're holding a  Gina K Guest DT call. The first challenge was a technique called Color on Color Emboss Resist. Check it out on You Tube HERE. I had fun getting inky with my sponging. The Gina K set I used is called Smile. I added a scalloped strip of vellum to help soften some of my harsh red sponging. And I so love linen thread I knew I wanted to add some here as well. Very fun and simple. To be considered for a guest DT spot, you must complete four challenges. The second one was just posted...I have to put my thinking cap on for making a shaped card. Definitely not in my comfort zone. Guess that's why it's called a challenge!!!

Blog Candy Alert!!

Each month, the Fresh Brewed Blog is holding a Blog Candy Giveaway. You must use a Fresh Brewed Designs image on a newly created card as well as post this blog candy badge on to your blog, linking back to the Fresh Brewed Blog.

For fun I created a card today, using a Fresh Brewed Designs image called Love Blooms Vase. I also used the sketch from this month's choose your challenge, also at the Fresh Brewed Blog. I turned the sketch sideways and took some liberties with the different shapes.

Sure hope it warms up soon around here. Yesterday we woke up to no school, because the temps were -10 degrees...and that was just the air temp. CRAZY!!

Sweet Snow Friends

Welcome to our latest challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. Hope everyone involved with these sub-zero temps are staying safe and warm. What a perfect excuse for staying inside and stamp!!

Another reason to join us this week is our fun and fabulous sponsor, The Stamping Boutique. They are graciously giving our winner 3 free digis of their choice. But wait, there's a surprise, if you're the winner AND used a Stamping Boutique image, you will win 4 free images!!!!!

Here's my card, using the adorable image Snowfriends. I so love snowmen, so this image was right up my alley. I had a paper pack on my desk from a previous project and decided to go with it, even though it had nothing to do with winter (it's Cosmo Cricket's Baby Jane line). A little sewing is always a fun embellishment! Now do join us this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 for a fun challenge.

Ho Ho Ho

Okay, now that the crazy holidays are over and Phillip's back at college, I'm enjoying getting into my craft room to create. I'm so excited to be on the Design Team at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges...I'll get a head start on my cards for next Christmas!!! This week our challenge is to use ribbon and/or lace on your holiday card. Our sponsor, the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps. My card uses the adorable Candy Cane Bells - Ho Ho Ho. Yes, I know, candy canes are usually red and white. I love using unexpected colors...but purple, my least favorite color??? Crazy, I know. My ribbon has a bit of sparkle in it, perfect with the silver brads. Do join us this week at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

Thinking of You

It's a mild Sunday...good day for taking Phillip back to Pitt. He was a happy camper to be returning. His Dad and I are enjoying the quiet at home!!! Meals will be a lot different too, I won't have to cook such big ones anymore.

Here's my card to this week's Clean and Simple challenge over at The Outlawz. The theme is "New Beginnings." With the below zero temps they're calling for starting tomorrow night, I am so ready for a new season. Especially one with sun and beautiful flowers. This is a Hero Arts stamp and die set that is new to me also, because this is the first time I've used it. I used the rock and roll method on the flower, using some ink pads by Gina K Designs. Thought the diagonal greeting added some fun interest. The flower is die cut and popped up. Quick and easy, that's for sure.

Popping Up to Say Hello

Today's Thursday...I need to keep reminding myself of that because I'm thinking it's Monday!!!! Did you see the fabulous new release from Doodle Pantry yesterday? Another fabulous one if I may say! And the instant I saw this sweet set, Giddy Groundhog, I knew I had to create something with it. I went with the latest sketch at OWH, love the CAS flair. I will definitely be using this one again...and again!!!! I'm off to work this morning. Sent one boy to school and one hubby to work. The college boy finally woke up! I certainly can't blame him for wanting to sleeping in.

You Warm My Heart

Happy New Year! Welcome to our new monthly challenge at the Fresh Brewed Blog. We've decided to stir things up a little bit with a few changes to our month long challenge. We will have three options for your to play along with - a sketch, photo inspiration, or both. I'm lucky that I get to create using the sketches and here's the first one.

For my card I used the adorable Fresh Brewed Designs digi Snow Friends. I didn't want it to have a Christmas vibe so I went with red, white, and blue for my colors. Besides, I had some of those colors of paper scraps right on my desk from previous projects!! Please join us this month for lots of fun. Of course there's two prizes up for grabs also - 3 digis to one winner and a guest designer position for another for the next month's challenge. How fun!!!

Owl-ways Here for You

January 1, 2014!!! Wow, can you believe it?!! And being the first of the month, that means time for a new release over at Doodle Pantry. You know me, I love the pre-colored digis, and this set is no exception. Say hello to Silly Critters. Yes, this is the color version along with some digi paper included in this set. I love the clean and simple style too, always trying to keep embellishments to a minimum so I can mail it off. It was actually quite refreshing creating something that wasn't holiday related. Mind you, I enjoy being off work, relaxing (what's that?) at home, but it's time to get back to normal. Tomorrow one goes back to school and two of us go to work. Then over the weekend we take our college boy back for classes starting on Monday, and with a fresh supply of groceries. He eats non-stop!!!

Don't forget to play along in our Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge over at the Doodle Pantry Blog. The theme is anything goes but if you use a Doodle Pantry image, you'll receive via email an adorable set absolutely free called Heart on Fire.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2!!

Happy New Year and welcome to our maiden voyage of Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. We're so happy to be able to continue bringing you wonderful sketches and even sweeter sponsors.

Speaking of sponsors, this week we have A Day for Daisies, graciously offering our winner a $12 gift certificate for their store. Take a moment to check out their shop, it's wonderful!!!

Here's my card using our sketch and the adorable image Kitty from A Day for Daisies. I pulled out a Basic Grey paper pack and based my colors on it. I had to resist putting a sentiment on the front, not knowing exactly who would be receiving this. A kitty love for sure!!!! Please join us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and have a happy new year.
