Meow!

Okay, you must think I really have a warped sense of humor because my previous post was of a turkey running for his life waving a "No Hunting" sign. Now this one where a cat has a piece of cheese tied to it's leg dangling it in front of a mouse!!! The cat is called Mama Kitty and the sentiment if from Kitty Toys, both current sets from Clear Dollar Stamps. Now the mouse and cheese wedge are part of the November release also from Clear Dollar Stamps. The card measures 4.25 inches square and made totally out of scraps! Believe me when I say I have a lot of scraps!!!

More Sneak Peeks

I don't know what it is about this turkey, but I absolutely love him!!! He is definitely running for his life!! And the sentiment "Eat More Ham" is simply hilarious!!! This is a new set being released on Saturday from Clear Dollar Stamps. I paired him up with a brad that CDS also sells that says "No Hunting." It reminds me of the Bugs Bunny episodes where he and Daffy Duck go back and forth yelling "Rabbit season," "Duck season" to the hunter Elmer Fudd! (Please tell me if you know what I'm talking about so I don't feel ancient!!!!!!!). Anyway, the turkey and the leaves are colored with copic markers. Lots of earth tones were used since they are my favorite, whether it's autumn time or not. The strips of background paper are distressed and sponged a bit with dark brown ink.

Prayer Journal #2

Here is another sample using Clear Dollar Stamps' November release set "Prayer Journal." The colors are Cool Caribbean (yes, I still have a stash that I've been hoarding!), Black and White. The cross, which is absolutely stunning I think, was white embossed then the edges sponged in white. It is layered up and mini black brads were added in the corners. The sentiment ("Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised") is from the "For Our Lord" set also by CDS and is popped up. I sent the blue layer thru my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Birds and Swirls folder. I then sponged it with more white craft ink. It was then layered onto white that was scallop punched. I added some white polka dotted ribbon thru a pewter buckle and some rhinestones for a little sparkle. Thanks for stopping by. I hope to get a few more sneak peeks posted later today.

Prayer Journal

I apologize for not posting any sneak peeks yesterday. I got to work at 9:30am and came home at 9pm! I sat down on the couch with dinner, turned on the TV, and promptly fell asleep!!!
Today I am showing you cards I made using a November release set from Clear Dollar Stamps called "Prayer Journal." And what a lovely set indeed. As a design team we were given several challenges to complete so I decided to combine the sketch and color challenges with this one. The colors are Going grey, Mellow moss and Taken with teal. I needed to add the black to really pop the colors. The card measures 5 1/4 square, a size I don't seem to use often enough. Along the diagonals of each color is a new border stamp by CDS called "Scallop Leaf Border" that coordinates with the Prayer Journal set beautifully. The sentiment, "It is Good to Give Thanks to the Lord" is from the "For Our Lord" set. I heat embossed the cross in black on grey and cut it out. It is popped up on several layers of Nestabilities ovals which are also popped up (I love dimension!). Black organdy ribbon, silver cord and silver hardware were also added.

CDS Sneak Peek #2

Here's another sneak peek of Clear Dollar Stamps' November release - this set is called Holly Builder and I knew from the moment I saw this set that I had to have it!!! So versatile and I love the fact that the stamps are clear so I can have perfect placement of the leaves and berries. I inked up the stem in chocolate chip, the leaves in old olive, and the berries are purely pomegranate. I had a 6 x 6 pad of Basic Grey's Eva that inspired the colors. Some hardware, ribbon, paper piercing and dimensionals completed this card. Thanks too for SCS and their weekly sketch challenges for the layout.

Keep coming back for more sneak peeks!! Then on Saturday you can start ordering up some stamps of your own from Clear Dollar Stamps!!!!! You're gonna love 'em!!

Clear Dollar Stamps Sneak Peek #1

Here's a sneak peek of one of the November releases from Clear Dollar Stamps called "Eat More Ham." It is such an adorable set!!! This turkey is hilarious, running for his life. I used my Copic markers on him then took him to the sewing machine to add a few stitches. He's popped up on the yellow layer that is Cuttlebug embossed using the Swiss Dots folder. The sentiment "Thankful" (oh, and on the inside, it says "to get away!") is also popped up. The leafy background layer is glossy paper making use of the Versamark resist technique -- the leaves were stamped on glossy with Versamark, allowed to dry, then color was brayered on. Any place the leaves were "resisted" the ink and remained white. I also stitched around this layer. A strip of background paper, some ribbon, and a few brads (the leaf brad is by Karen Foster) completes the card. Keep coming back, there is lots to show!!!

Featured Stamper Challenge Card

This week's Featured Stamper on SCS is Speedystamper. I cased her card called Christmas Heart. I used a stamp set from Verve Stamps called Notes of Prayer. The colors are Chocolate chip (of course), Taken with teal, Very vanilla and Aqua mist by PTI. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the aqua mist layers. A rhinestone brad in the center of the cross, use of the ticket corner punch, and lots of popped up layers and the card is complete. I finished this in no time and love how it turned out.

Cocoa the Dog

Meet Cocoa, from Clear Dollar Stamps. I have been so out of the stamping loop I actually struggled with this one!! Better stamp more so I get more practice!! Cocoa is adorable, as is the stamp set Doggie Toys where I got the sentiment and the fire hydrant you see peeking out from the inside of the card. Everything was colored with copic markers. My sewing machine is always out because I do sewing on uniforms at the karate school I teach at. I currently have 5 uniforms that need a total of 60 patches sewn on!!!!!!! That's why I have no free stamping time!!! So instead of working on the uniforms, I decided to add some zig zag stitching to my card!! The background paper is from DCWV's The Pets Stack - love all the glitz and shine on these papers.

Check out my blog next week, I will have some Clear Dollar Stamp sneak peeks to show you of their November release. Such adorable stamp sets, you're gonna love 'em!! When you place your order, tell 'em Linda sent you!!!!!!!!

I'm Still Here

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth!! I had stamp camp yesterday, 16 ladies came and we had fun. Plus I've been working away at my sneak peeks for Clear Dollar Stamps -- you're going to love these sets, sooooo adorable!!

This week the SCS challenges are going pink and they are asking that all cards be donated to the Chemo Angels organization. I really am going to try to play along with each one, especially for such a wonderful cause.

Fun Sketch

Okay, so I finally got the sketch challenge done on SCS from Wednesday and what a fun sketch it is! I plan to use it again for the Christmas card challenge I'm involved in...and way behind on!! As soon as I saw this layout I thought of the set from Papertrey Ink "Out on a Limb." I added the little AMuse bird for a pop of color. I then added the Riding hood red taffeta ribbon because, by mistake, I ordered an extra spool of it (oh darn) so I can hoard one and use the other!! Weird thinking I know but hey, it works!!!!

Color Throwdown #14

I'm enjoying the weekly Color Throwdown challenges -- it's just too bad I never seem to set aside the time to create something using those colors!! Well this week the colors were Taken with teal, Kiwi kiss and Tangerine tango -- teal has quickly become a favorite of mine so of course I took the challenge! The tangerine didn't photograph very well, so use your imagination. The image and sentiment came from a Papertrey Ink set call Garden of Life. I just recently bought the long rectangle Nestibilities as well as the crushed velvet brads so why not use them. Thanks so much for stopping by and looking.

FINALLY!!!

Yes, a card...finally!! I really have no excuses, but I'll try to come up with one!!! I injured my shoulder and have been on pain medicine (something I can only take at nite because it makes me incredibly sleepy) so when I get home from work in the evening I'm hurting -- so I take my pain pill, turn on the TV, and promptly fall asleep on the couch!!!!! Maybe I should have posted the card I tried making while on my meds!!!! Believe me, it was BAD!!! Anyway, I pulled some scraps out to make this one. I had stamped the image (from Serene Sunflowers) quite some time ago and just last night put it together. I love the eggplant, soft yellow and olive combo together. A bow and a few brads and the card is complete. Now off it goes to....hmmmm....who?
