More Red, White and Blue

I seem to be stuck on red, white and blue!! Actually, I pulled out some designer papers in those colors and just couldn't resist using them! Now don't ask who make the paper you see here, because I totally forget!!!!! I had received this image thru Wish RAK (absolutely love it!) and decided to submit it for the WRAK challenge to create a card using these colors. I think I like this flower so much is because I can use my Copic markers and don't have too much to fuss with. You would never know that I just purchased some of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders either since I seem to keep going back to the Swiss Dots! Anyway, thanks for stopping by.

Thoughts of Father

I was a busy bee yesterday getting some stamping done! I finished the three WRAK challenges yesterday and here is one of them. It fits a sketch challenge posted on SCS, #149. I used the Thoughts of Father image sent to me by someone in Wish RAK. I colored it up with my Copic markers while watching HGTV and Food Network narrowing down their "stars." I enjoy these types of shows (love Project Runway and Top Chef). Anyway, I found my colors to be a bit fall-ish, but I do tend to gravitate towards the Earth Elements anyway. I found the striped DP in my scrap bin, think it's by Bo Bunny. Colors used are chocolate chip, Ruby red, Spring moss and Sweet blush, both of which are by PTI. The dragonfly brad got inserted at the last minute to cover up a boo boo! Thanks for looking, hope you have a great week. Less than 2 weeks till vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Top Chef

This is going to be DH's birthday card. He's the king of the grill at our house so it only seemed fitting. I also submitted it for the WRAK challenge this month, a category called Outdoor Summer Time. I had just received this image thru Wish RAK so timing couldn't have been more perfect. I colored up Mr. Chef with my Copic markers then sponged blue for sky. A little bit of sewing and some red, white, and blue rhinestones complete the look. So fun.

July's Christmas Card

Yep, got 10 of these babies done for the July Christmas card challenge. I think next month I'll work on some holiday thank yous. It would be nice to have some of those done ahead of time also. We made a card with this layout at my stamp camp last Sunday...I liked it so much I decided to use it again! I used the set Trim the Tree and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. I used up some of my current In Colors so I can make room for the new ones I just got!!

Teal Tulip

Yes, I am still alive and stamping, just not finding the time or energy to post anything!! We leave for vacation in 2 weeks, AND I CAN'T WAIT!!! This card is for a swap I'm in. We needed to use a two step floral stamp plus a SCS color challenge of our choice. I've been in to Taken with teal lately so I went with CC172, Taken with teal, Wild wasabi and White. I haven't used Terrific Tulips in quite some time, so figured I'd dust it off and get it inky!! Thanks for looking.

Ahoy Matey!

Another swap card!!! I enjoy doing this particular swap I'm involved in called Different Kind of Swap (DKOS). Stamp sets or themes are posted along with a recipe and then your creativity takes over. This group was a pirate theme. I had these stamps by The Cat's Pajamas that I absolutely adored, so they found the ink (it had been awhile!). I don't remember who all the designer paper makers are, but I bought it specifically for these cards!! Mind you, I'm sure I have some piratey paper somewhere in my stash, but I just didn't feel like looking thru it all! The cute pirate ship brad is by Karen Foster - other brads in the assortment included a pirate hat, treasure chest, and skull/crossbones. Too cute!!!

June's Christmas Challenge Card

Yep, that's right, a Christmas card!! I made 10 of these for June --but it's July you say!!! I know, I know, I'm a tad late, but the challenge calls for 10 cards each month...and these are mine for June!!!!!! Guess I'd better get working on July's!! Colors are Old olive, Sahara sand, Very vanilla, Bravo burgundy and Holiday Thyme DSP. I used the Peaceful Wishes set (I'm sad to see this one retire) as well as the Script embossing folder for the Cuttlebug. Gold brads and wide olive organdy ribbon finish it off. Fairly simple for me, thank goodness as I'm running out of hours in the day. Would you believe by the time midnight comes around, I've fallen fast asleep on the couch with the TV on???!!! I used to be able to get by with less 4 hours of sleep each night, now it's 6 plus a nap in the afternoon!!!!!!! What's up with that??!! I need the kids to get back to school so I can have "my time" back! Oh well, as my oldest son said, "Only 27 days till vacation!" Outer Banks, here we come!!!!!

I Don't Know How You Do It!!

I really can't keep up with daily bloggin'!!!! I just don't know how some people do it!!

This card is for the Featured Stamper on SCS this week, Teneale. I cased her card seen here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/765561?cat=500&ppuser=101216. I had to add layers so I Cuttlebugged one using the Diamonds in the Rough embossing folder. The strip the looks like designer paper is actually stamped using Papertrey Ink's Guide Lines. Talk about a fun set, go to their website (linked over at the right) and check it out!! I used their cardstock and ink, Berry Sorbet and Sweet Blush. The scripture is by Verve Stamps, a new SCS member company! I added paper piercing, Sweet Blush twill and the wire flower brad and called it done. What a fun card to make.

Happy Day Little Girl!

I wanted to keep showing you some of the cards I made this holiday weekend that will be donated to the troops. This challenge was to make a birthday card to send to one's little girl. I received this High Hopes image from someone thru Wish RAK. Kitty was colored with copic markers. I gave her a raccoon tail because our one cat's is like that on the end. The balloons are covered in Crystal Effects for some added shine. My Cuttlebug just stayed out on the table all weekend because I burned off a lot of embossing. Odd colors for me, but they seemed to work...Pumpkin pie, Tempting turquoise and Orchid opulence. Can't believe the weekend is coming to an end, there's still more stamping to do!!!!!!! And DH wants us to have a little family time together -- not when there's stamping I must get done!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anniversary Card

Another Wish RAK challenge card -- an anniversary card a male serviceman could mail home to his wife. I love birds and this set (Spring Song) is adorable. I received this image thru some very generous ladies of the WRAK group. I'm seriously thinking about getting this set myself because after all, I NEED it!!!! I colored the image in with Copic markers. Too bad I can't color in the lines. I tried fixing my goof and may have just made it worse. I can hear you asking now, "Is that groovy guava I see?? I thought she didn't like that color?!" Okay, okay, so I've converted to the guava lovers society! I paired it up with Sage shadow and the black/white ribbon really adds some pop. I also used some verbage from the set Always. The paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder was pulled out of my stash. Can't wait to get my new folders!!!!!!! Thanks for looking.

Combo Challenge

The challenge for the WRAK weekend was to use Sketch Challenge 182 from SCS and make a masculine birthday card. I changed the sketch to make it fit into a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 size card. The lighthouse image I received from Wish RAK. I colored it in with Copic markers and really like how it turned out. I'm not a very good colorer but sure am trying!! Practice will not make me perfect, just improved! I used some yummy satin ribbon and dew drops for that final touch. Off it goes to the troops so they have a card to mail home.

Now How About Christmas!!

We're just hitting up all the holidays that cards are needed for! This is actually the challenge I am the hostess for, Christmas cards using non-traditional colors. This should not come as a surprise to anyone, I love making Christmas cards in the wildest of color combos. This one is not too far out there for me, brown, pink, blue and green. I received this adorable snowman from Holiday Tag Team through Wish RAK. Added some sparkle to his scarf after coloring him up with copic markers. I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink and punched it out with the small oval punch. I then punched out thru the pinks using the large oval punch then popped up the words. Love the look. The jewels are by Doodlebug in bright green, love 'em! A pompom and wide satin brown ribbon finish it off. This card will be included in my stash being sent off to the troops. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving???

Yep, that's right, I said Happy Thanksgiving!!!! This card was made using the Year After Year pumpkin I had received thru Wish RAK. I colored it up with Copic markers the cut it out. I'm not much of a cutter (takes too much time!!) but it wasn't too bad. The colors are chocolate chip, sahara sand (it went thru the Cuttlebug), wild wasabi and really rust. The DSP is Apple Cider by SU. This card is part of the WRAK challenges and will be sent overseas to the troops to then send home to their family and friends.

Weekend of Challenges

This holiday weekend is filled with challenges -- Wish RAK challenges that is. I'm even hosting one of them!! Similar to VSN when challenges are posted every hour, there is no time constraint to complete your card. You must, however, use something you received thru WRAK. Cards will then be donated to our troops to be able to send home to loved ones. How fabulous is that!!! The challenge involved with this card asked for a birthday card for Mom. I'm still learning how to use those Copic markers!! I even got a third (and my last) set, the pastels. The cardstock colors are Taken with teal, Aqua mist and Spring moss (both from Papertrey Ink). The diamonds in the rough embossing folder was used -- I love using those folders!! Speaking of love, I adore the silver hardware from the most recent SU mini. With the current three sets of hardware retiring, I am assuming the silver will be in the new fall/winter catalog. Thanks for looking. I'll try to post more challenge cards...in my spare time!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

Lovin' Those In Colors!

I really love the current In Colors! For the longest time I didn't care for guava, but do you know it's starting to grow on me!! On this card I used Chocolate chip, Groovy guava, Soft sky and Wild wasabi. Two layers found their way thru the Cuttlebug to be embossed. The flower image is from the Embrace Life set while the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, a favorite stamp company of mine. This card went together quite fast, no agonizing over it!!!!! I will need to order more cardstock in these colors as I will miss them when they are gone. Thanks for stopping by.

Come Out, Come Out Wherever You Are!!!

Oh my goodness, has it really been that long since I posted oh here!!!!! Life just does not want to slow down!!!

This card is for a swap. I am desperately trying to get a lot of my unloved stamps inked up!! I love these little bees by Stampendous. I actually turned one into a ladybug!! And they both got a touch of glitz with some Stickles on their wings. I colored them in with Copic markers then went wild with the dots. Thanks for swinging by and taking a look.
