Featured Stamper Case

Today's Featured Stamper is Denidill...Congrats!!! I've linked her gallery to my blog. Here's the card that I cased: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/879801?cat=500&ppuser=89258. I changed up the colors -- can you believe I used Taken with teal??!! I can't tell you the last time I used that color. The card base is Kraft by Papertrey Ink and the Cuttlebugged layer is Aqua Mist, also by Papertrey Ink. The shimmer I added to the card was using SU's shimmery white. I must say, I think Blossoms Abound is my all-time favorite set, I sure do use it a lot, especially for the challenges.
Since the posting of this picture, I changed up one thing. I didn't like the two bows so I tore things apart a bit and tied the white organdy ribbon with a knot only, no tails. Me likey!! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Father's Day!

Yep, this is the Father's Day card I made for hubby...just last night!!! The ideas just weren't coming to me! Anyway, I used the horse from the stamp set Wanted and the sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink (they just released some wonderful new stamp sets today, check it out by clicking on the link over along the right-hand side!!). The charm is from Karen Foster. Cardstock colors are Chocolate chip, Very vanilla, Blue bayou and Pumpkin pie. The DP is by Moxie. It actually went together quite quickly -- good thing since it was 2am when I decided to sign it and hit the hay. I didn't get a picture of it until this morning when he opened it along with his present.
I'm off to take a shower -- after all, it is almost 11:30!!! Talk about lazy. I need to get working on cards for stamp camp next Sunday along with some challenges and swaps I want to get done. Enjoy your day!!

Sarah's Graduation Card

Last week was such a stressful week at work. I put in a lot of hours which can only mean one thing -- time to buy some stamps!!!!!!!! And that's exactly what I did. I placed several orders and now have the hard part of waiting for them all to arrive!!

I cased this card by Toy because I loved the layout: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/939151?cat=500&ppuser=11437 Our niece graduated from high school and we drove up to be at her party. As you figured out, her high school colors are black and gold --- figured I'd better explain that since they also happen to be Steeler colors!!!!! I stamped the grad hat from the set Sketch an Event then watercolored it with basic grey, cut it out, put in a vintage brad, then popped it up. I liked Summer sun the best of all the yellows I had and mixed it with So saffron. The words are from Papertrey Ink -- I need a new one inch circle punch, don't like the way mine cuts a little piece out of the circle. Darn, that means a trip to the stamp store, how awful!!!!!!!!

Featured Stamper Bonjour Card

You know how I love to play the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS. Maren (user name mmbc) has a wonderful gallery, check it out ( it's linked over on the right of my blog). Here is her card that I cased: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/927856?cat=500&ppuser=138483. You can see the things I changed up - I used Carte Postale, changed up the colors so I could slip in some Papertrey Ink, and I just had to use that yummy chocolate satin wide ribbon. Of course things are popped up with dimensionals, a favorite thing of mine...along with ribbon and brads! Thanks so much for looking.

Season of Joy

Christmas is June????? Can only mean one thing, the Christmas card challenge to make 10 cards each month so you're all ready for the stress of the holidays. This is my card for May. I made all 10 of them last night while over at a friend's house stamping with a group of lady friends. We used to get together once a week but life has interfered with that so now it's every so often.
Anyway, about the card, I used the Season of Joy set by Stampin' Up. I hardly used that set so I figured I'd pull it out and dust it off. The eggplant snowflake popped up in the middle of the word "joy" has Stickles on it, giving it a blurred appearance. The non-traditional Christmas colors that I used were Elegant eggplant, River rock, Old olive, Chocolate chip and Very vanilla. The DSP is by SU called Brocade Background. I used my Nestibilities for the main image as well. Just can't seem to stop myself from using that Cuttlebug!!!
